Tried out my new bike cam (see below) and besides the sound being off and I had it mounted a bit off it kicks ass! Martin, RC, Greg, Kevin, Jim, Jeff W (Jeff D showed up too and had already been out for an 1-1/2 so he had to turn around, it was good to see him out on the bike) and I originally planned on Cougar Mountain and Squak but changed mid ride. Jeff was fixie, I was tired from 2 days on the mountain, Greg was wiped out from Skiing as well so we took a right instead of heading up Newport and did a couple extra hills before dropping into Coulon. Poor Greg had a couple flats but we fought through those well and had a few laughs. I put two good efforts in and it felt good but my body is SO tired from Crystal on Wednesday and Friday.

So jumping back… Christmas was fantastic. We spent Christams eve over at my mom’s house with Mom, Evan and Emery. Chowed down on Dill Meatbals and a great wine and then headed home late. Rosanna and I woke up to gifts from Santa Claus. I know it was him because SOMEONE ate the cookies and milk that Rosanna left out for him (What can I say… I got hungry at about 1 in the morning) Ro got me this AWESOME helmet cam for Cycling and Snowboarding and spoiled me with so many other gifts. She knows me so well :-) We went over to her folks place for brunch and dinner and I experienced Habanero Tobasco Sauce. My thought? Ouch. enough said.

Ro and I hit Crystal mountain the day after Christmas and had a great time. Perfect snow, not a lot of people and a pretty good lunch at the Summit House. Ro hadn’t been on skiiis for 2 years I think so it took her a few turns to get her legs back but by our 2nd run down she was all over it. I don’t know how she does it, it looks way too damn hard. we had a great time and left after a perfect run. Exhausted, happy and ready to get home to relax.

Friday I met up with Greg, Suzie and Todd to play on Crystal again. I must say, Greg scares the hell out of me but makes me feel so protected at the same time. We hiked up to bomb down the Exterminator and I was pissing myself looking down the cliff side Todd went, Greg watched me to make sure I was OK and I blasted through perfect powder as I screamed my ass off. It was billowing over my head and it felt like I was floating. God I love powder days. I haven’t had a day like this since Seventh Heaven on Blackcomb 2 years ago. Epic day.

Basically it comes down to this. This holiday season has been my best ever and I think I have finally figured it out. It wasn’t the stuff I got or the stuff I gave. It wasn’t money in any christmas cards. It was my friends and family, my fiance and great times shared with all of them.

I love you all so much and Rosanna, you are perfect. ;-)

here is a sample video from my new bike cam. The sound sucks because I haven’t figured it out yet but this is gonna make for a killer race season!
