How I spent my Friday night….

Posted: Category: Life as I Know It 2 Comments

No party

No Dancing Gilrs

No Keg Stands

Just me, a bunch of parts, a frame and a crap load of bike tools…

Nothing special, really. In fact the frame was REALLY inexpensive. Leader was blowing out thier 2007 stock and I got it for pennies. All Ultegra 10spd, Cane Creek Ti calipers, Profile reverse pull levers, Syntace bars and although I have my Spinergy’s on in the picture I will be running my Easton Tempest 2 deep carbon Tubular wheels.

Ok… Now it’s time to get some real work done, like fix my BMC and get the Cannondale ready for tomorrow’s team ride.

  • Nice Brian! What gearing are you going to run in front? It’s been my experience that you can go a tad larger than the traditional 39/53 (having a 54 or 55 on allows you stay in the middle of the cassette more for a better chain line too). Of course if you don’t it’s not the end of the world. Most people fine a 53 plenty big enough… :) If you have an old 42 kicking around I would put that on as it makes for a nicer transition from big to small ring.

  • I have a 53/39 x 12/23 9 spd and have NEVER needed anything larger than that. I’ve never been an outstanding TTer (stinkin Thinkin, I know) We’ll see how this works for Ice Breaker. Good call on the 42, I might try that out!
