Friday Musical Interlude

Posted: Category: Life as I Know It 2 Comments

When I’m warming up, Doing an indoor TT or riding the rollers in my living room I’m pretty much plugged directly into my iPod. People often ask me what I listen too to “get me in the mood”… Well Barry White of course, then they wrinkle their noses say “gross! not THAT in the mood”.

What do I listen too when I ride? well…

Rage Against the Machine, “Bulls on Parade”

If you’re a Rage fan, you have to agree with me that Tom Morello completely kicks ass on this track.

A little revolution is good from time to time.

Pearl Jam, “Given To Fly”

This is one of my favorite songs and this concert clip is an amazing version espicially with the the ASL translator on the side stage. Now THAT rocks. I think Musical Sign is one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. You know how people say you can feel the music? Imagine you are deaf… NOW you feel the music, the bass, the people stomping their feet and then combine that with the interprator.

Being deaf is no handicap.

The last 30 seconds are pretty damn cool.

The Roots, “Sacrifice”

It’s not just good music, it’s a lesson in life.

Zwan, “Honestly”

Corgans invention between Smashing Pumpkins gigs… basically the Pumpkins on happy pills. I love the riffs in this tune. I think this pretty much proves that Jimmy Chamberlin along with Billy’s voice WAS the sound of the Pumpkins.

There is SO much more to this (I was going to throw in some late 80’s Metallica but didn’t want to scare my mom), plus I’ve been listening to alot of the other stuff people have forwarded to me either via this site or email. I love it! I’ll post more next Friday.

Happy Friday, Y’all!!!
