I was sick of being sick and needed some time on the bike so Dustin and I went for an easy short spin around Mercer Island.
18 miles way easy, tourist like.
Bike – Cannondale R2000 50-34 x 11-21 Ksyrium SL wheels
Food – Snickers bar
Easy and fun ride. Great company with conversation. It was nice to be able to get back out on the Cannondale but realized that I didn’t clone my new lower saddle position from the BMC and it felt a little tall. I haven’t ridden this bike in a while. I was still a snot factory though, my jersy and front of the shorts were drenched in it but thanks to mother nature moving some rain in at about mile 8 I was well cleaned off by the time we got back to Leschi. Dustin nailed me on all the sprints and I felt myself lacking a lot of power but I am sure it’s just me trying to get over illness. I think I need one long ride before this weekends races so I’ll try to fit that in Thursday or Friday.
Tonight will be spent putting the drivetrain back together on the BMC. New chain, pulleys and I think I’m going to take a spacer out from under the stem and lower it a bit. Then it’ll be an hour and a half on the rollers.
Weekend plan update (subject to spousal approval)
Saturday – Sequim Road Race (Tony, Me, Maybe Dustin and hopefully Jeff Dunn)
Prediction – Tony and Dustin top 5 me top 20
Sunday – POC Road Race (Dustin, Jeff and Me)
Prediction – Dustin top 5 Jeff and I pack finish (but I don’t know the Cat 3 competition in Oregon very well)
Now get to work!
